Description

Formed in the late 60’s South Koreas largest car manufacturer Hyundai had a reputation of producing middle of the road family saloons but all that changed with the formation of the Hyundai Motorsport division. Debuting in WRC during 2014 they were soon on the podium and progressed to win back-to-back manufacturers titles, keen to transfer this success and knowledge gained through motorsport to the road Hyundai’s N division was formed and in 2018 unleashed the marques first true hot hatch the i30N. The success of the i30N saw EXCELR8 Motorsport introduce Hyundai to the BTCC in 2020 where they’ve enjoyed continued success and with Scorpions involvement ensures true track to road technology transfer. Scorpion’s technical partnership with Hyundai goes back to the late 90’s when supporting the UK based company MSD ‘Motor Sport Developments’ who at that time, we’re key in bringing Hyundai to WRC. The F2 Hyundai Accent driven by Alister McRea entered the WRC scene for 3 years during which time and along with other technical projects Scorpion would become a key partner in MSD’s exhaust program. 

Here at Scorpion Redpower we are proud to offer our new development of top spec products for the Hyundai I20N. Our 76mm/3” pipework is manufactured from premium T304 stainless steel with which we have developed a full system that can be in a sense split into four main sections the Downpipe, Front flex pipe, GPF-delete and GPF-back system. Our GPF-delete comes with the choice of resonated or non-resonated and the GPF-back system is offered as valved or non-valved. Valved - which uses the original motor and can be operated by the driver with the drive mode select button inside the car or there is non-valved which deletes the valve completely for a continuous sportier tone. These products are flange fitting allowing for our products to be used alongside the OEM this gives you as the buyer flexibility to upgrade in stages.

Our system once fitted gives the car a measurable reduction in weight when compared to the OE system this is an improvement most drivers will find hard to rebuff. When applicable Scorpion systems are fitted with an acoustically developed silencer to ensure zero drone throughout the rev range. To enhance the Hyundai’s aesthetics, we can offer 2 handpicked finishes of our signature Daytona tailpipe style. The polished Daytona or black ceramic Daytona. These options allow for drivers to professionally customise their car with precision engineered products and perfect their systems to suit individual tastes.
